Scholarships for Marcus & Maya!
Dear Friends,
We are very excited to continue sending Marcus and Maya to the International School of Tucson (IST) in 22-23 where they will be attending elementary school. Marcus and Maya will be fully immersed in Spanish, and the International School of Tucson is one of the few schools in Tucson that continue Spanish immersion through middle school. They also are exposed to French, Mandarin and German. While attending this multi-cultural private school is a decision we are glad we made, it is not without financial burden.
Arizona residents have the opportunity to provide assistance to students in private schools while receiving a dollar-for-dollar tax credit in return. Because it is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, the net cost to you is ZERO. If, for example, you donate $2,200, you can deduct that amount off your Arizona state taxes, either paying less or getting a larger refund when you file your return. Your donations are awarded in the form of student scholarships to help with tuition expenses.
Donation maximums for the 2022 tax year are: $2,483 filing married joint, and $1,243 filing single.
At any time between now and April 15th, 2023 you can contribute to Arizona Tuition Connection. To do so, click on the “DONATE NOW” Button below.
The website will instantly email you OR your accountant the receipt to use when you file your 2022 taxes. At that time, you will deduct that amount off of your Arizona state taxes.
I just want to reiterate: this is a dollar-for-dollar tax credit, the net cost to you is zero. Your taxes can either go generically to the state or you can use this program to redirect the funds to a private school. You can even recommend a student if you like, and we would be very grateful if you recommended Marcus or Maya Amini at the International School of Tucson.
Marie and I have taken advantage of this tax credit for 6 years and it is very easy to do using Turbo Tax or through your accountant.
