If you file jointly, donate $2,177 and are in the 33% tax bracket, you walk away with $2895.41, from a $2,177 donation In addition, you can make this contribution the same day you file your taxes. While an exact diagnosis for Memphis is proving to be quite elusive, the sequencing of his exome (and potentially genome) in conjunction with the sequencing of his entire immediate families should shed some light on the root cause.
