Scholarships for Rachel!
Dear Friends,
After trying several public school options, the Orme School, with it's small student body, nurturing staff, and menagerie of horses, mini donkeys, dogs, chickens, cows and goats, is the perfect learning environment for Rachel. Rachel finds the ranch atmosphere calming and her daily routine includes gardening and dog petting/walking. She is on a first name basis with the campus dogs. Rachel knows all the staff members and has been able to attend Orme's small classes. Math has been her favorite subject, but biology and US history are also challenging and she is taking an interest in their creative class projects; such as the Dragon breeding Mendelian inheritance project.
In just a short time, her self confidence has grown and it's exciting to see her making friends and going to Orme school events. Attending Orme is a decision we believe in whole-heartedly, but it is not without financial burden. Because of this, we humbly ask if you would consider doing something to help. As you may know, Arizona offers a Tax Credit that allows Arizona tax payers to take the funds they would normally pay in state taxes and use them to help families with kids in private schools.
Here is how it works: any time between now and April 15, 2020, you can contribute to Arizona Tuition Connection and recommend our family receive those funds. When you file your 2019 taxes, you will deduct that amount off of your Arizona state taxes. If you owe money when you file, you would owe less by the amount you donated. If you are getting a refund, you would get a larger refund.
Because it is a tax credit, the net cost to you is zero. You simply have the option of paying your taxes to the state, or redirecting those funds to a private school to help fund a friend's child’s education.
